Fort Hancock’s history spans nearly the entire length of our nation and is widely considered a national landmark. Most commonly known for it’s lighthouse, which is one of the oldest in the United States, the Fort also played an essential role in the War of 1812 and both World Wars.
Today, Fort Hancock’s historic buildings are under lease and renovation by private individuals who aim to preserve the beauty and legacy of the area. This restoration initiative has been featured in many news outlets and is a source of pride for the local citizens.
